The Challenge
El Pollo Loco and Dedica Group wanted to update the consumer site to include a menu builder, which would allow the user to build a meal based on the El Pollo Loco menu and calculate all the nutritional facts. They needed this application to work seamlessly with their existing website and have the ability to administer the application.
The Solution
Visual Identity Group created the Nutritional Guide/Nutritional Calculator for the El Pollo Loco website that is administered via a Content Management System. Customers can add and delete menu items, as well as add and subtract ingredients to get a detailed report on their personal selections. The nutritional calculator includes fat grams, calories, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates, fiber, sugar, protein, Vitamins A and C, Calcium and Iron. Once a user’s selections are placed in the “cart”, all the nutritional values are added for each item with a resulting Total calculation. The administrative area allows El Pollo Loco to quickly add or delete a menu item into this featured area.
